First of all, we would like to warmly welcome you to our site! We are thrilled to introduce ourselves as part of New Song to you. To help you get to know us better, we want to share a bit about our lives and the journey we’ve been on.
We live in the beautiful city of Almere, and we are proud parents of two grown children and are blessed to be grandparents to four wonderful grandchildren. Currently, we serve as pastors of New Song Arnhem, but this hasn’t always been our role.

From transformation to leadership
Rea came to the Netherlands in November 1988, and I, Erik, followed in January 1989. Life wasn’t easy at that time, and the way we were living was far from what the Lord had intended for us. One day, while a brother was evangelizing on the street, we were approached with the message that we could start a new life. At that moment, I got into a discussion with him, trying to put him in his place, not realizing that it was actually I who was being set on the path that God had planned for us! From then on, I slowly began to open up to the Word of God. In January 1989, we both gave our lives to Christ in a Dutch church in Amsterdam’s Bijlmer neighborhood. That same year, in May, we got married.
In 1994, we joined New Song in The Hague, and in 1995 we moved to Amsterdam, where we continued attending the church. Under the leadership of Pastor André and Marella Nahr, we experienced and witnessed incredible things through God’s grace. These experiences shaped us into the people we are today. For many years, we served as leaders in the church, with a focus on evangelism and follow-up care. We’ve worked alongside various pastors and carried out the duties of pastoral workers.
In 2018, we relocated to Arnhem with Pastor André and Marella to continue the ministry, and in 2022, we were officially appointed as pastoral workers, fulfilling our dream of being entrusted with the responsibility for the Arnhem congregation. On March 19, 2023, we were officially ordained as the pastors of New Song Arnhem. Later that year, during our annual gathering of all New Song churches, called “Asamblea,” we were anointed by our leader, Welton “Papi” Esprit. It was an amazing and emotional day that we will never forget.
With the wonderful New Song Arnhem congregation, we have big plans that, with God’s will, will become a reality. I want to encourage you to read Paul’s second letter to the Corinthians (2 Cor 5:17): “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” This verse has been my personal motto since my conversion, and I want to encourage you to join us in diving deeper into the Word, so that the Word of God can live in your heart just as it lives in ours.
